Arrival and location
sixth largest island in the Adriatic Sea
With an area of 279 km2 and approximately 17,000 inhabitants, Korcula is the sixth largest island in the Adriatic Sea. The island has a culture going back over a thousand years and features villages and cities that are hundreds of years old, interspersed amidst lovely vegetation that stays green year-round and is dotted with olive trees and cypresses.
Along the island's 180 kilometres of coastline are a variety of bays and beaches. And on top of all this, the island is blessed with the region's famous mild Mediterranean climate. It is just a few hours away from Rijeka, Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik by ferry, a few nautical miles from Peljesac, and just one step from paradise. The Hotel Korkyra is located on the western end of the island in Vela Luka, the second largest town on the island.
